Abstract

The brushing of aluminium by rotary nickel silver wire brushes gives surface changes due to low temperature welding, and not surface melting. This is shown by examination of the surface produced at different speeds of brushing, with and without lubrication, and by experimental and theoretical estimation of surface temperature.
