Abstract

Abstract Extensive testing of available work clothing for winter use has demonstrated significant limitations, which may enhance the health risk of the workers and reduce the quality and volume of their work. To a large extent the clothing is not functionally designed to the level required, and may actually hamper the movement of the worker. Wind is probably the single most important climatic factor influencing the worker's performance.
