Abstract

We all have seen the headlines, read the news media reports, and surfed the Net for information on fraud, waste, and abuse (FW&A). Using two general search engines, there were 95,600 hits on the topic, and on another, 98,900 hits! That's quite a bit of information about FW&A! One obvious reason is that it is an important topic and should be extremely important to all levels of management and employees in government agencies and corporations. Why? Because it is costing all of us a great deal of money in higher prices for products, higher interest rates, higher taxes, and the like. However, like the saying goes, everyone is talking about it but nobody is doing anything about it. That may not be completely true. Maybe it is better said that some are trying to do something about it with little success in the grand scheme of things.
