Abstract
In order to solve problems of the low utilization ratio of the material of main cable and wind instability of suspension bridges with super-long-span steel main cables, ANSYS is used in this paper to establish models of a spatial cable suspension bridge and a parallel cable suspension bridge respectively. The dynamic mode, static wind stability and flutter stability of the models are compared by the software. The results show that the spatial suspension bridge has tensional vibration appearing much later, a higher frequency of the cable system, and a higher critical wind speed and a higher critical wind speed for the flutter, compared with the parallel cable suspension bridge. Therefore, the spatial suspension bridge has better wind stability.
