Abstract
The linear model of wind-driven circulation with bottom friction is solved by boundary-layer methods and a perturbation solution of the non-linear model is also presented. The results are discussed in detail to set the stage for the discussion of the results of the numerical integrations of the non-linear system of Part 2.
