Wille La Roche (1872-1942): ship's engineer, shell collector and contributor to Auckland Museum's malacology collection

Abstract

For much of the 1920s ship’s engineer Willie La Roche (1872 – 1942) obtained specimens of terrestrial, fresh-water and marine molluscs, as well as bulk marine sediment samples, many of which came into the collections of Auckland Museum.
