Will privacy rights of young people with drug use histories be protected?

Abstract

Young people whose substance use — either as a patient or in another way — is revealed can have problems getting a job, and even may be kicked out of school. The problems would haunt them through their lives in some cases. This is why there are specific protections for privacy, and why breaches of that privacy are particularly serious.
