Last week, it was learned that the heir apparent to North Korean top leader Kim Jong Il is his third son, Kim Jong Un. For insights into how things may shake out for North Korea's scientific community, Science spoke with Ph.D.-trained defector Kim Heung-Kwang and Park Chan-Mo, who is helping establish Pyongyang University of Science and Technology.
