Abstract

The Budget-time debate on the NHS in March gave no serious hint of the heavy confrontations looming over the subject in the coming general election. The Tories’ shadow Health and Education Secretary, Tim Yeo, again promised to match Labour's spending on health but surprisingly refused to spell out precisely how their much-touted ‘Health Passports’ will work.
