Abstract

Bilingual education has become widespread throughout the world. Bilingualism is important to Chinese learners. However, bilingual education in China is still under development and needs improvement. One year of bilingual education in an Organic Chemistry course was implemented at Hebei University of Technology. First, Questionnaire 1 was designed to investigate the students' attitudes to bilingual education. Next, teaching modes were adjusted according to the results of Questionnaire 1. Then, bilingual education in the Organic Chemistry course was taken for one year. At the end of the course, Questionnaire 2 was designed to study students' reflection on bilingual course. The results of Questionnaire 2 indicate that students were in favor of bilingual education in the Organic Chemistry course after experiencing bilingualism; however, some students said the course was difficult. The results also show that teaching content and methods need improvement.
