Abstract
Abstract We consider particles diffusing independently in the interstitial space of a regular array of perfectly absorbing spheres. We present exact results for the steady state rate coefficient. We show that the rate coefficient may be related to the field energy of a corresponding Wigner solid which is calculated using methods developed by Nijboer and de Wette.
