Abstract

This paper proposed the Microstrip Antenna which enhances the bandwidth with the use of Defected Ground Structure (DGS). The study and implementation of proposed antenna is discussed in this paper. With the use of DGS the bandwidth is increases efficiently to 6% as compared to the normal rectangular patch antenna. The proposed antenna is designed for Wi-Fi application at the resonant frequency of 2.4GHz. The H-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) displays the FR4 substrate characteristics with permeability ‘μ’ and permittivity ‘e’. The simulation is done by using High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) version 13.0. Based on the simulation result the antenna indicates the improvement in term of return loss which is 36.77%. The Vector Network Analyzer is used for verification of performances of fabricated antenna such as return loss, VSWR and bandwidth.
