Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyse and evaluate the level of sustainable development (SD) in the Polish voivodships in 2010. The level of SD of the voivodships in Poland was measured in the economic, social and environmental dimensions. Thematic areas were analysed using the indicator-based analysis and synthetic measures. The results revealed large differences between regions in all three dimensions: economic, social and environmental, as well as in the relationships between these dimensions. The highest level of SD, taking into account the three dimensions, is observed in dolnośląskie, mazowieckie and pomorskie voivodships. Opolskie and świetokrzyskie voivodships are characterised by the lowest level of SD. The study used the statistics of the Central Statistical Office for the year 2010.
