Abstract

An elliptical monopole antenna integrated with slot dipole antenna with reconfigurable ability is presented. The antenna can switch its operating frequencies from wideband to triple-band to dual-band to single-band or vice versa by using switches. The operating frequencies of all modes are designed to operate within the wideband mode operating range, from 2.0 GHz to 6.0 GHz. Both ideal and real switches simulated results of S <inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">11</inf> , radiation pattern and realized gains are presented. By providing more frequency selectivity, the antenna is suitable to serve in multi-radio wireless applications.
