Abstract

A wideband dielectric resonator antenna is proposed in this paper. To enhance the bandwidth, two stacked resonators with different dielectric constants and sizes are used, and a coaxial probe is placed off the antenna axis to excite the HEM 11delta mode in the DRA. The effects of antenna parameters such as dielectric constant, probe length and excitation position as well as air-gaps are investigated. The analysis is performed numerically, using commercial software high frequency structure simulator. An impedance bandwidth as wide as 63% (from 6.9 GHz to 13.2 GHz, VSWR les2) is achieved with the proposed antenna
