Abstract

This paper presents a wide band metamaterial absorber (MA) using square-shaped closed ring resonator with four resistance and square patch for Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction of the ground plane. The unit cell having a square loop with resistor and a square patch is designed with the help of parametric analysis. The result clearly reflects wide band absorption within 4.2 GHz to 8.8 GHz frequency range. It shows a wide band absorption response required for airborne and surveillance radar absorption applications. Simulations and results comparison of monostatic RCS of MA surface to the corresponding Perfect Electric Conductor (PEC) surface are carried out.
