Abstract

Time-domain and frequency-domain statistical models for computer simulation of fading multipath indoor radio channels are compared. In the time-domain model, the channel pulse-response is formed by addition of several pulses arriving at the receiver from different paths. In the frequency-domain model, the frequency response of the channel is modeled as an autoregressive (AR) process identified by the location of its poles. The models are then compared in terms of simplicity of computer simulation and accuracy to represent the vital parameters used in performance prediction of wideband communication systems. >
