Abstract

In this paper, the design of the wideband planar antenna is presented for cellular, GPS, and wireless applications. The proposed antenna consists of an E-shaped radiator, a microstrip line of 50 \(\Omega \), and a partial ground plane, and have an overall size of 60 \(\times \) 60 \(\times \) 1.6 mm\(^3\). It is observed from simulation results that the proposed antenna is providing a wideband response in the frequency range of 0.9–2.63 GHz, which is suitable for cellular, GPS, and wireless communication applications. Measurements are carried out to verify simulation results, and it is observed that the measured and simulated results are in good agreement. Furthermore, the proposed antenna offers good gain and radiation characteristics for the entire bandwidth.
