Abstract

This paper describes a wideband dual-polarized antenna array for 5G mmWave mobile application. An air cavity structure is introduced to mitigate the high loss tangent of the FR4 substrate. Slot-coupled feeding and parasitic patches are used to improve the impedance bandwidth of the patch antenna. The measured bandwidth is 23.1 % (23 ~ 29 GHz). In virtue of wide bandwidth, high gain, and good spatial coverage, the proposed design strategy is promising for future 5G mmWave mobile phones.
