Abstract

This note points out that many properties of the conventional ambiguity function have analogs for a true compression-and-delay correlation function; specifically those properties which do not depend upon the former's symmetrical treatment of the time and frequency domains. The true compression-and-delay correlation function will be called a "wide-band ambiguity function" to distinguish it from Woodward's (1964) ambiguity function.
