Abstract

An all-fiber tunable continuous-wave laser is constructed based on an acousto-optic tunable filter and dual-semiconductor gain. The laser adopts a ring cavity structure and has advantages including large tuning range, fast tuning speed, and high linearity. It has a tuning range of 120 nm, a tuning speed of 40000 nm/s, and a tuning linearity of up to 0.99914. It can also switch any wavelength within the tuning range. This type of laser can be applied in various fields such as high-capacity optical communication, distributed fiber optic sensing, gas detection, and so on.
