Abstract

In this work, Silver, Zinc, Gallium, and Sulfur based AgZnGaS3(AZGS) QDs were synthesized with a colloidal hot injection method and it is loaded onto the surface of TiO2 nanofibers. The morphological and structural properties of the AZGS QDs and QDs sensitized TiO2 were examined by X-ray diffraction, X-ray photo spectroscopy, High-resolution transmission electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy studies. The optical properties were examined by using absorption and emission spectra studies. These results showed that the synthesized QDs have a bandgap of 2.1 eV and their average lifetime is 67.75 ns. There is no alteration found in the crystal structure of TiO2 when AZGS QDs are loaded onto TiO2 nanofibers (AZGS/TiO2) surface. A solar cell is fabricated with AZGS/TiO2-based photoanode and analyzed by ac-impedance and photovoltaic performance. Its photoconversion efficiency was estimated to be 3.81%.
