Abstract

Read/write performance of an ultra narrow track width (5μm) video head using a sputtered Fe-Si-Al alloy film in connection with high-coercivity metal powder tape is presented. Both the high output voltage (90nVo-p/μm.turn.m/s) and the wide-band reproduction sensitivity (3dB roll-off at 40MHz) have been demonstrated. This proves that an excellent isotropic high-frequency permeability has been realized in the alloy film core.
