Abstract

The backup automatic switch (BPAS) will refuse to operate when considering the support of bus voltage provided by the distributed renewable energy, thus threatening the stable operation of the distributed network. To address this problem, an optimized control scheme based on the wide-area BPAS is proposed. The mechanism of the refusal of BPAS caused by distributed renewable energy is analysed. Then, to improve the reliability of the power supply without discarding renewable energy, the existence of renewable energy is judged with the help of the energy management system, and the capacity ratio of the renewable energy and load is calculated. Then the capacity ratio is used to optimize their coordinated operation, e.g., their adjustments and recovery. Simulation results show that the optimized BPAS control scheme can effectively ensure the consumption of renewable energy and the power quality of load.
