Abstract
The article focuses on the analysis of the relationship of the title character of Pierścien Wielkiej-Damy [The Ring of a Great Lady] to objects or (commonly understood) things. This analysis allows to formulate the hypothesis that Norwid’s intention was to present the protagonist as a “substantial and complete woman”, as an entirely positive character (in Norwid Studies, the general view on Countess Harrys is rather different).
