Abstract

One feels cooler water than oil which are kept at the room temperature for a long time. Although we can read same degree of temperature of them by conductive type thirmometers, obvious difference is found between them by radiative measuring method. At 0°C measured conductively, oil shows 8°C higher than water by the radiative equipment. Based on this fact, authors presume that the warmth sensation must be caused by heat radiation rather than heat conduction. Warm feeling by touch agrees with the result obtained by radiative method for some materials. On this view point, problems about heat sensation and control of skin temperature can be easily explained.
