Abstract
Two complete papers and excerpts from others presented at the annual meeting of the Southern Conference of Dental Deans and Examiners discuss various aspects of the theme of the meeting—National Board examinations. National Board examinations has been a much debated issue recently. At its meeting in January, the Southern Conference of Dental Deans and Examiners made this topic its theme. Educators, examiners, representatives of the Council of National Board of Dental Examiners, practitioners, and students met to discuss the issues. Two papers presented at the meeting are published here in their entirety. And excerpts from the other papers give some of the varied opinions expressed at the conference.
