Abstract

The author is associate director for the Training and Education Program of the American Institute for Research in Pittsburgh and research consultant to WQED, the metropolitan Pittsburgh ETV station. His article is an abbreviated version of an earlier report, "A Behavioral Analysis of the Role of Visuals in Instruction." The report was based on research supported by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Office of Education, under Title VII of the National Defense Education Act.
