Abstract

Many innovation enthusiasts bask the virtues of the idea of applying Blockchain to create an autonomous decentralized land registration system. I argue that this idea appears to run counter to the basic characteristics of real estate market and therefore is undesirable. Though Blockchain has several other technological advantages, most of them can be achieved through existing alternatives that challenge the logic of adopting a riskier technology with many drawbacks and unknowns.
