Abstract

This article describes the results of a domestic violence survey conducted among selected families in Beijing and in the suburbs of Beijing. The survey examines a range of factors to determine the extent to which they are contributors to the likelihood of violence. These factors include educational level, personality types, and family background. This article also examines the forms in which physical violence occur and attitudes of victims of this violence. It compares the results of the urban with the suburban respondents.
