The second edition of this comprehensive biographical dictionary includes profiles of more than four hundred leaders in cultural, political, military, government, and private-sector spheres. Information for each individual includes date and place of birth, education, elective political positions, governmental posts, interest group activity and membership in professional organizations, personal data, and military experience. The original edition of this comprehensive biographical dictionary of contemporary public figures in Mexico was the first of its kind to appear in forty years. In the second edition more than four hundred figures are profiled, including leaders in cultural, political, military, governmental, and private-sector spheres. Over half of the biographies in the first edition have been updated; 15 percent are altogether new.For each individual, the author has provided information on date and place of birth, education, elective political positions and party positions, government positions, interest group activity and membership in professional organizations, personal data, and military experience. Especially useful is the inclusion of difficult-to-obtain information on individuals backgrounds and references to sources of information in both English and Spanish.
