Abstract

Ford Foundation are sponsoring a 12‐month study at Sussex University of open learning systems in countries using modern media at post‐secondary level. Individual study reports will be linked by a generalising essay, drawing out aspects considered likely to be of interest to education planners, particularly in developing countries which face the problem of extending learning opportunities to adults by non‐traditional means. Countries involved include Australia, Japan, Kenya, West Germany, Ivory Coast and the United States.
