Abstract

The aim of this article is to show the role of electromagnetic theory in fixing the final limitations of wireless communication systems. Some examples regarding the introduction of sidelobe constraints on the fields radiated by antennas are discussed, showing the large impact of constraints on the capacity of wireless communication systems that are based on space coding. The examples are obtained using a GUIbased program that can be freely downloaded by interested readers.
