AbstractCommercial Banking (MIC: SIC: 6021 NAIC: 522110)Whitney Holding is a bank holding company. Through its subsidiary, Whitney National Bank, Co. is engaged in community banking and serves a market area that covers the five‐state Gulf Coast region stretching from Houston, TX, across southern Louisiana and the coastal region of Mississippi, to central and south Alabama, the western panhandle of Florida, and to the Tampa Bay metropolitan area of Florida. In addition, Co. owns Whitney Community Development Corp., which provides financial support to corporations or projects that promote community welfare in areas with mainly low or moderate incomes. As of Dec 31 2007, Co. had total assets of $11.03 billion and deposits of $8.58 billion.
