Abstract

Visible photoluminescence properties of mesoporous nanocomposites of carbon and silicon dioxides prepared using the triconstituent co-assembly method is reported. Intense white-light emission from the nanocomposites was observed at room temperature, under 370-nm light irradiation after proper carbon desorption by air-oxidation. We observed that the shapes of the luminescence spectra, especially in the green-yellow region, were highly dependent on the oxidation condition of the samples.
