Abstract
We have studied the magnetic susceptibility of a few oxygen-deficient YBa 2Cu 3O 7−δ single crystals. We find that whether or not a normal-state pseudogap opens, and at which temperature it opens. seem irrelevant to the superconducting T c of the crystals. The results violate the usual believed carrier concentration versus temperature phase diagram.
