Abstract

EVIDENCE-BASED ANSWER Parental education on appropriate introduction of healthy solid feeding practices, recognizing infant hunger and satiety cues, and encouraging active play leads to lower BMI-for-age Z-score (BMIZ), weight-forlength percentile measures, and overall BMI in infancy (SOR: B, 1 RCT using each outcome). Effect on weight beyond 1 and 2 years old and effect on other health measures are unknown.
