Abstract

For many marginalised groups there is a consistent and inflexible requirement that leadership within its representative bodies be comprised of members from the same marginalised group. This demand is often absent within the representative bodies for disabled people. This article discusses this issue and whether there can truly be ‘nothing about us, without us’ when so many disability leadership positions are colonised by non-disabled people.
