Abstract

Seldom required for diagnosis, hospital admission is indicated when the decision has been made for definitive therapy in the particular case. The question then becomes which surgical procedure to choose—hysterectomy or myomectomy? A strong plea is made for the latter, especially in the woman of childbearing age, and a technique is outlined that minimizes trauma to the uterus and surrounding structures.
