Abstract

A 68 year old man with a history of aortobifemoral bypass (occlusive disease), gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y reconstruction (gastric tumour) and aorto-enteric fistula correction 10 months previously by graft excision, duodenorraphy, omentoplasty, and axillobifemoral bypass presented with haematemesis. Computed tomography angiography noted a fistula between the aortic stump and the horizontal duodenal tract with contrast leakage (A, aortography, arrow). (B) Infrarenal aortic stump closure was performed using two Amplatzer Vascular Plug II (St. Jude Medical, Minnesota, USA) (arrows). The patient made an excellent recovery and refused further interventions, and remains event free at three year follow up.Image 1
