Abstract

This month’s issue of the Motion Images Journal represents a different tack for SMPTE. Instead of focusing on a broad topic such as workflows, imaging technologies, or audio, we have decided to turn the spotlight on 8K video–more specifically, the acquisition and distribution of what the Society officially classifies as ultrahigh definition (UHD)-2, or video with at least 7,680 horizontal and 4,320 vertical pixels in each frame.
