Abstract
A trip to a hardware store and some MacGyvering -- these were essential to arriving at a vibration analysis for a hospital wanting to add a helistop to its roof. Normally not a challenging assignment, the analysis for this project was complicated by many factors, including: the existence of several functioning cath labs on the floor below the roof; unknown vibration and EMI sensitivity of the cath lab equipment; a limited budget -- and only one week to prepare for the study. This presentation will explain in detail the goals and constraints of the project, and how three engineers -- one an acoustician -- developed relatively-simple-yet-ingenious, and low-cost, solutions.
