Abstract

We suggest policy makers seeking to improve the functioning of US health care agencies might usefully consider Singapore’s example; there are important management practices that can be usefully implemented without comprehensive system reform to improve the culture and functioning of US health agencies. These include developing measurable agency outcomes, collaborating across agencies, building and retaining talent, and learning from international health systems.
