Abstract
• The development of extra glottic airway devices (EGA) is considered one of substantial technical advances of modern airway management. • There are unresolved controversies in the choice of the type of any EGA. In general, what is the individual choice of the EGA based on? • Extensive, multicenter RCT`s are needed to characterize specific EGAs and to identify potential advantages, limitations and disadvantages.
