Abstract
The urgency to address the existing climate crisis cannot be overstated. The October 2018 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C clearly indicates our society has just 10 years in which to reduce our carbon emissions in half. If we do not achieve this, society risks passing a global climate tipping point beyond which climate feedback loops take over, causing an irreversible chain reaction beyond human control, and no amount of human mitigation can keep the world's climate from catastrophic disruption. This is a sobering scientific reality that presents an existential emergency not only for each of us individually, but for each organization and business, since all enterprise depends on a stable climate in order to operate.
