At that time, “women’s imaging” was the umbrella term that often included imaging of the breast and obstetric and pelvic ultrasound. Many well-renowned breast radiologists began their careers as women’s imaging fellows, but as the field of breast imaging has evolved, the antiquated umbrella term “women’s imaging” persists.
