Abstract
Great falls schools go metric. The Great Falls Public School System has launched a metric education program to train teachers and members of the community in the metric system through a hands-on approach. The program used seven portal leaders trained at the University of Wyoming to provide inservice work for teachers. Selected teachers then develop curricular mater ials and testing instruments, and act as in-school contacts. Portal leaders also speak to community groups such as PTAs and service clubs.
