Abstract

AbstractThis article emphasizes the responsibility for residence hall staff to understand the grief process. An adaptation of Kubler-Ross’s stages of death has produced helpful techniques for successfully accepting the death. This article illustrates that there is a normal grief process of which staff need to be aware. Through understanding these principles, staff can become aware of the grief process and can assist residents in achieving a new normal life without a significant other.
