Abstract

Parents have specific ideas and concerns that are important when developing consumer-oriented child health care services. Some child health clinics are encouraging families and children to assume active responsibilities for their health care. Parents identify how they would like to receive information about their children and families and what specific information they need. Most of parents' concerns are normal developmental concerns. These concerns must be addressed so that parents can get on with parenting. The key is identifying parents' concerns and then addressing those concerns through a mechanism that parents will utilize.
