Abstract

ABSTRACT To date, researchers have not outlined supervisees’ perspectives on their behaviors, responsibilities, and/or practices to promote clinical supervision. In this study, we used Concept Mapping (CM) to explore what counselor trainees (supervisees; n = 16) perceived as their responsibilities to contribute to their clinical supervision experiences. Exploratory sequential mixed methods procedures of CM revealed five areas of supervisees’ responsibilities (e.g., Essential Tasks of Supervision, Inclusion of Multicultural Considerations) represented by 21 clusters. We discussed the results with limitations and implications for supervision practice and research.
